The Chalk Couture Detail Tool was new in our Spring 2020 Catalogue. I purchased one right away because I had been wanting a skinnier Multi-Tool for a long time. The obvious use for it is to chalk small design elements in different colours. Things like the berries on the Home wreath. Now making tiny elements or elements that are close together in the design a different colour is super easy and super fast. But the squeegee end is not the only bonus with this little tool.
At 6″ long, the Detail Tool feels good in your hand. It is a double purpose tool, with a detail work end and a micro squeegee on the other.
The detail work end is rigid and pointy. It has a cap to protect your hand when you are not using it. This little point is perfect for a couple of things: 1) you can use it to clean up a paste design edge when you make a mistake or have chalk bleeds. The Detail Tool will make the edges crisp where that has happened so you don’t have to start over. 2) you can use the point to help you lift a corner of your transfer up from your design and then slide it along the under edge so you can easily lift the transfer from the sides, top or bottom without tugging at the corner. Tugging at the corners to lift can stretch your transfers. The Detail Tool prevents that.
I like to use multiple colours on intricate designs so the Detail Tool has become a must have in my chalk studio. I use it every day to lift transfers as well. The better I take care of the transfers, the more uses I get out of each of them.
